A resort town on the country's scenic Adriatic coastline, Portoroz offers many spas with all kinds of therapeutic treatments, many based on the brine and mud from the area's salt pans.
Take a break from the city and head to Tolmin Gorge and Isonzo. Step off the beaten path and head to Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower and Hrastovlje Church of the Holy Trinity. Venture out of the city with trips to Cross Cave (in Grahovo), Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum (in Idrija) and Church of St. Daniel (in Štanjel).
