Writer Pearl Buck once called New York City “a place apart,” and this giant urban center remains unlike any other in the world.
9/11 Memorial and American Museum of Natural History are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Ellis Island and Hamilton Grange National Memorial will appeal to history buffs. And it doesn't end there: wander the streets of Times Square, take in the pleasant sights at Central Park, explore the landscape on two wheels at East River Waterfront Esplanade, and shop like a local with Fifth Avenue.
