Proud of their hometown's distinct culture and dialect, many natives of Osaka describe their city as "Japan's anti-capital." An antidote to Tokyo's hectic energy, Osaka marches to the beat of its own drum, serving as the country's longtime commercial and industrial hub.
On the 11th (Fri), take a stroll through Dotonbori. Here are some ideas for day two: take in the spiritual surroundings of Nishinomiya Shrine, then appreciate the views at Arima Onsen, then see the interesting displays at CUPNOODLES MUSEUM OSAKA IKEDA, and finally make a trip to Koyasan Danjo Garan.

Santiago, Chile to Osaka is an approximately 33-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 13 hours traveling from Santiago to Osaka. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in September, and nighttime lows around 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sun) so you can take a train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Kick off your visit on the 14th (Mon): contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, then contemplate the long history of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kennin-ji Temple. Here are some ideas for day two: take some stellar pictures from Mt. Kurama, take in the spiritual surroundings of Genkoan, then see the interesting displays at Kyoto Railway Museum, and finally look for gifts at Ippodo Tea Kyoto.

Kyoto is very close to Osaka. In September, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 33°C, while at night they dip to 23°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Niigata.

Traveling by combination of train and flight from Kyoto to Niigata takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. Traveling from Kyoto in September, you will find days in Niigata are slightly colder (29°C), and nights are about the same (22°C). On the 16th (Wed), you're off toYokohama.

Once a small fishing town, Yokohama was one of the first ports to welcome foreign trade in the 19th century, after which it grew into Japan's second largest city and a bustling metropolis.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Wed): get engrossed in the history at Memorial Warships Mikasa, then engage your brain at Yokohama Science Center, then wander the streets of Yokohama Chinatown, and finally wander the streets of Minato Mirai 21.

You can take a train from Niigata to Yokohama in 3.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of flight and train; or drive.
