The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
When in Kyoto, make a side trip to see Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, approximately Osaka away. There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, make a trip to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, take a stroll through Gion, and step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle.

Motobu-cho

Formed by the gradual merging of several old fishing villages, today the island town of Motobu-cho boasts paradisal beaches of white sand, clear waters, and a rich array of wildlife.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Scuba & Snorkeling and Busena Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Motobu-cho side-trips: Onna-son (Sun Marina Beach & Onna Station Nakayukui Market). Next up on the itinerary: get outside with Bisezaki, get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, head off the coast to Minnajima Island, and stroll through Okinawa Memorial Park Ocean Expo Park.
