Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Asakusa Shrine and Hokokuji Temple (Takedera Temple). Explore hidden gems such as Mt. Takao and Kitchen Town (Kappabashi). Go for a jaunt from Tokyo to Sakae to see Yokohama Nature Sanctuary about 1h 15 min away. There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Sensō-ji, wander the streets of Ginza, browse the range of quality goods at Ginza Mitsukoshi, and stop by Ginza Itoya Hontren.

Manchester, UK to Tokyo is an approximately 17-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. Traveling from Manchester to Tokyo, you'll lose 9 hours due to the time zone difference. Fuji is a city in eastern Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Kick off your visit on the 6th (Sun): head outdoors with Fujigawa Service Area - Inbound, then head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, and then take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Iwamoto.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Fuji in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In September, plan for daily highs up to 29°C, and evening lows to 25°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Sun) early enough to take a train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Eikando Zenrinji Temple. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Tofuku-ji Temple and Koyasan Danjo Garan. Change things up with these side-trips from Kyoto: Nara (Nara Park & Nigatsu-do Temple), Koya-cho (Kongobu-ji Temple & Koyasan Okunoin) and Dotonbori (in Osaka). The adventure continues: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Kurama, and stop by Fuuka-Kimono.

You can take a train from Fuji to Kyoto in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and flight. While traveling from Fuji, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Kyoto, ranging from highs of 33°C to lows of 23°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 10th (Thu) to allow time for travel to Okinawa City.
