Calgary, Canada to Tokyo is an approximately 15-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference when traveling from Calgary to Tokyo is 16 hours. When traveling from Calgary in August, plan for somewhat warmer days in Tokyo, with highs around 36°C, while nights are warmer with lows around 28°C. Step out of Kyoto with an excursion to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka--about 1h 15 min away. Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, don't miss a visit to Heian Shrine, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, and step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle.

Take a train from Kanazawa to Kyoto in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. While traveling from Kanazawa, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Kyoto, ranging from highs of 39°C to lows of 29°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Thu) to allow time to take a train to Himeji.

Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 27th (Tue): glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area and then enjoy the sand and surf at Nago citizen Beach.

Traveling by combination of flight and bus from Hiroshima to Motobu-cho takes 7 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, flight, and bus; or do a combination of train and ferry.
