Marseille, France to Nagoya is an approximately 20.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Central European Time (CET) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually an 8 hour difference. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Nagoya when traveling from Marseille in September, with lows around 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Tue) to allow enough time to take a train to Kobe.

Walkable, small, and aesthetically charming, Kobe has served as Japan's first and premier international trading outpost since opening to trade with China in the mid-19th century.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Wed): tour the pleasant surroundings at Amore Beach, then admire the sheer force of Nunobiki Falls (Nunobiki-No-Taki), then examine the collection at Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum, and finally get a taste of the local shopping with Nankinmachi (Kobe Chinatown). Here are some ideas for day two: take in nature's colorful creations at Rokko Alpine Garden, see the interesting displays at Kiku-Masamune Shuzo Kinenkan, and then see the interesting displays at Kawasaki Good Times World.

You can take a train from Nagoya to Kobe in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In October in Kobe, expect temperatures between 26°C during the day and 20°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Fri) early enough to catch the train to Osaka.
