Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
On the 29th (Sun), stroll through Kondoi Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: take in panoramic vistas at Tamatorizaki Observatory, get outside with Cape Hirakubozaki, and then kick back and relax at Yonehara Beach.

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Yonaha Maehama Beach and Yabiji. Get in touch with nature at Sunayama Beach and Scuba & Snorkeling. There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Aragusuku Beach, snap pictures at Irabu Ohashi, tour the pleasant surroundings at Toguchi no Hama, and don't miss a visit to Ikema Ohashi Bridge.
