Getting from Tokyo to Hakone-machi by combination of train and bus takes about 2 hours. Other options: drive. When traveling from Tokyo in June, plan for slightly colder days in Hakone-machi, with highs around 23°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Gifu.

Traveling by car from Hakone-machi to Gifu takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train; or fly. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Hakone-machi in June: highs in Gifu hover around 28°C, while lows dip to 23°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Shirakawa-mura.
