In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.

Cairo, Egypt to Milan is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. The time zone difference moving from Eastern European Time to Central European Time is minus 1 hour. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Cairo in June: high temperatures in Milan hover around 33°C and lows are around 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Wed) early enough to catch the train to Florence.

On the 2nd (Thu), take in the views from Ponte Vecchio, take in nature's colorful creations at The Boboli Gardens, then make a trip to Piazzale Michelangelo, then admire the masterpieces at Pitti Palace, and finally see the interesting displays at Academy Of Florence Art Gallery. Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Explore Venice's surroundings by going to Padua (Scrovegni Chapel & Basilica di Sant’Antonio). There's lots more to do: explore the activities along Canal Grande, hit the best photo ops around with an inspiring photography tour, admire the landmark architecture of Basilica di San Marco, and take in panoramic vistas at St Mark's Campanile.

Take a train from Florence to Venice in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In July, daytime highs in Venice are 36°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Mon) early enough to travel to Vietri sul Mare.

Vietri sul Mare is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the Campania region of southern Italy. Get out of town with these interesting Vietri sul Mare side-trips: Ravello (Le Ville di Ravello & Duomo di Ravello), Spiaggia di Atrani (in Atrani) and Sentiero dei Limoni (in Maiori). There's still lots to do: delve into the distant past at Pompeii Archaeological Park, tour the pleasant surroundings at Spiaggia di Marina d'Albori, get outside with Monte Finestra, and enjoy the sand and surf at Spiaggia Lannio.

Often referred to as the gem of the Amalfi Coast, Positano remains one of southern Italy's most sought-after vacation locales, thanks to its hillside location and picturesque, pastel buildings.
Explore Positano's surroundings by going to Lido di Ravello (in Castiglione), Ravello (Villa Cimbrone Gardens & Villa Rufolo) and Amalfi (Speed Boats Tours & Duomo di Sant'Andrea). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Fornillo, stop by Artigianato Rallo, take in panoramic vistas at Torre di Grado, and add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour.
