The capital of Gabon and home to almost half of the country's residents, Libreville differs from many African cities, with paved roads, clean streets, and luxurious residences.
Take a break from the city and head to Pointe-Denis Beach and Akanda National Park. Visit L'Eglise St-Michel Libreville and Notre-dame de Lourdes for their historical value. There's still lots to do: admire the masterpieces at Musee des Arts et Traditions du Gabon (Museum of Art and Culture), try your luck at Casino Croisette, take in the spiritual surroundings of St Marie Cathedral, and admire the striking features of Institut francais.
