Traveling by combination of flight and train from Siem Reap to Kyoto takes 9.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or do a combination of car and ferry. You'll lose 2 hours traveling from Siem Reap to Kyoto due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Siem Reap in September, things will get a bit cooler in Kyoto: highs are around 83°F and lows about 68°F. On your second day here, tour the pleasant surroundings at Uradome Coast Oguri beach beaches, contemplate the waterfront views at Uradome Seacoast Marine Park, and then explore the activities along Uradome Coast.

Drive from Kyoto to Iwami-cho in 3.5 hours. Traveling from Kyoto in September, expect nights in Iwami-cho to be about the same, around 66°F, while days are little chillier, around 77°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Sun) early enough to travel to Shimoda.

On a trip to Shimoda, a small town nestled on the tip of the Izu peninsula, you can take advantage of the scenic sandy beaches and soak in the laid-back atmosphere.
Visit Otago Beach and Iwachi Beach for some beach relaxation. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Shimoda: Ita Beach (in Numazu), Izu (Odoi Beach & Toi Beach) and Inatori Ukiuki Beach (in Higashiizu-cho). There's more to do: stroll through Kisami Ohama Beach and see the interesting displays at Izu Naranda no Sato Kawazu Heian Buddha Statue Pavilion.

You can drive from Iwami-cho to Shimoda in 9 hours. Another option is to do a combination of car and flight. Traveling from Iwami-cho in September, Shimoda is a bit warmer at night with lows of 73°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Wed) so you can go by car to Tokyo.
