Nestled in the heart of the valley formed by the Shenandoah River, Luray draws visitors with a vast underground cavern system adorned with stalactites, stalagmites, and mirrored pools.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Mon): stroll through Stony Man Mountain Hike and then take in breathtaking views at Luray Caverns. On the next day, hike along Appalachian Trail and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Bearfence Mountain.

Situated at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Charlottesville is perhaps best known as the home of three of the United States' founding fathers, including Thomas Jefferson.
Bring the kids along to Virginia Safari Park and James Madison University. Explore Charlottesville's surroundings by going to National D-Day Memorial (in Bedford), Amazement Square (in Lynchburg) and Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive & Old Rag Mountain Hike). Next up on the itinerary: admire all the interesting features of Monticello, gain insight at Virginia Military Institute, and pause for some photo ops at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery.

You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA. Venture out of the city with trips to Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (in Richmond) and St. Luke's Historic Church & Museum (in Smithfield).
