Sensō-ji and Samukawa Shrine will appeal to history buffs. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Ueno and Odaiba Kaihin Koen (Odaiba Seaside Park). Get out of town with these interesting Tokyo side-trips: Yokohama Nature Sanctuary (in Sakae), Pola Museum of Art (in Hakone-machi) and Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Natural History (in Odawara). There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Asakusa Shrine, admire the masterpieces at Nezu Museum, steep yourself in history at Nezu Shrine, and look for all kinds of wild species at Kiyose Sunflower Farm.
