Tokyo

— 14 nights
Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at The National Art Center, Tokyo and Hokokuji Temple (Takedera Temple). Appreciate the collections at Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum and teamLab Borderless. Get out of town with these interesting Tokyo side-trips: Yokohama Nature Sanctuary (in Yokohama), Kamakura (Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Kamakura Hiking Trails, &more) and Hakone-machi (Hakone Shisseikaen, Lalique Museum Hakone, &more). The adventure continues: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Asakusa Shrine, steep yourself in history at Hozomon, explore the world behind art at 21 21 DESIGN SIGHT, and kick back and relax at Odaiba Kaihin Koen (Odaiba Seaside Park).

For maps, other places to visit, more things to do, and more tourist information, you can read our Tokyo trip planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Tokyo Haneda International Airport, Narita International Airport, Ibaraki Airport / JASDF Hyakuri Air Base and Yokota Air Base. In November in Tokyo, expect temperatures between 19°C during the day and 11°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
