One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
For shopping fun, head to Myeongdong Shopping Street or Namdaemun Market. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Insadong. Johannesburg, South Africa to Seoul is an approximately 21-hour flight. You can also do a combination of taxi and flight. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
On the 10th (Fri), pause for some photo ops at Seokguram, take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, and then admire the masterpieces at Silla Arts And Science Museum. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: see the interesting displays at Ulsan Daegok Museum, explore the activities along Anapji Pond, and then see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum.

Fly from Seoul to Gyeongju in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or drive. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Seoul in April: highs in Gyeongju hover around 14°C, while lows dip to 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
On the 12th (Sun), enjoy the sand and surf at Gwangalli Beach, kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haedong Yonggung Temple, and finally walk around Yongdusan Park. Here are some ideas for day two: stop by Gamcheon Cultural Village Art Shop, browse the eclectic array of goods at Jagalchi Market, and then wander the streets of Gamcheon Culture Village.

You can drive from Gyeongju to Busan in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Gyeongju in April, you will find days in Busan are a bit warmer (22°C), and nights are a bit cooler (10°C). Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Mon) to allow time to travel to Jeju.
