Edinburgh is known for historic sites, museums, nightlife, nature, and childrens museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: step into the grandiose world of Edinburgh Castle, explore the striking landscape at Arthur's Seat, get a new perspective on nature at National Museum of Scotland, and get curious at Camera Obscura and World of Illusions.

Valletta, Malta to Edinburgh is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of ferry and bus. The time zone difference when traveling from Valletta to Edinburgh is minus 1 hour. Expect much colder temperatures when traveling from Valletta in July; daily highs in Edinburgh reach 22°C and lows reach 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Wed) so you can drive to Fort William.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Venture out of the city with trips to Camusdarach Beach (in Arisaig), Morar Beach (in Morar) and Glenfinnan Viaduct (in Glenfinnan). There's much more to do: admire the sheer force of Steall Waterfall, appreciate the views at Glen Coe, contemplate the long history of Eilean Donan Castle, and stroll around Lochaber Geopark Visitor Centre.

Thurso is a town and former burgh on the north coast of the Highland council area of Scotland.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Sun): experience rural life at Puffin Croft Petting Farm & Farm Shop, get great views at Duncansby Head, then get engrossed in the history at Wick Heritage Museum, and finally step aboard Caithness Seacoast Ltd. On the next day, take some stellar pictures from Dunnet Head, then explore the historical opulence of Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust, and then explore the historical opulence of Castle Sinclair Girnigoe.

Durness

Durness
Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. Get out of town with these interesting Durness side-trips: Kinlochbervie (Sandwood Bay Beach & Oldshoremore Beach), Achmelvich Beach (in Lochinver) and Handa Island Wildlife Reserve (in Handa Island). There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Durness Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Sango Bay, and make a trip to Cairn House Gallery.

Inverness

Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Fri): have some family-friendly fun at Wildwoodz and then savor the flavors at Food & Drink. Keep things going the next day: relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour and then identify plant and animal life at Aigas Field Centre.
