Pamplona or Iruña is the historical capital city of Navarre, in Spain, and of the former Kingdom of Navarre.The city is famous worldwide for the running of the bulls during the San Fermín festival, which is held annually from July 6 to 14. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Monasterio de Santa Maria La Real and Museo de los Faroles y Rosario de Cristal. Your inner history buff will appreciate Colegiata de Roncesvalles and Iglesia de San Nicolas. Get out of town with these interesting Pamplona side-trips: Iglesia San Juan Bautista (in Arizcun), Bosque de Orgi (in Lizaso) and Urdazubi-Urdax (Expo Zubi-Arte & Cuevas de Urdazubi Urdax). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Museo De Tapices Y Capitular De La Seo, make a trip to Calle de Zapateria, pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia de San Saturnino, and get engrossed in the history at Museum of Navarra.
