Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Kick off your visit on the 21st (Sat): look for gifts at Yurateiku Market, kick back and relax at Kondoi Beach, and then take in the waterfront at Nishi Pier. On your second day here, walk around Banna Park, kick back and relax at Yonehara Beach, take in panoramic vistas at Tamatorizaki Observatory, then enjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki, and finally stroll around Kabira Park.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to Ishigaki is an approximately 16-hour combination of bus and flight. You can also fly. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 5 hours traveling from Abu Dhabi to Ishigaki. Traveling from Abu Dhabi in December, you will find days in Ishigaki are a bit cooler (26°C), and nights are about the same (20°C).
