With a long Pacific coastline, Nanjo offers fantastic views of the ocean from high cliffs covered with lush greenery, as well as from its long sandy beaches.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sat): look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas, then admire the masterpieces at Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum, and then make a trip to Shrikinjocho Stone-Path Road. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 7th (Sun): get engrossed in the history at Himeyuri Peace Museum, Head underground at Okinawa World Bunka Okoku Gyokusendo, and then admire the verdant scenery at Valley of Gangala.

Traveling by combination of flight and taxi from Hiroshima to Nanjo takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, flight, and taxi; or do a combination of ferry, flight, and taxi. Traveling from Hiroshima in April, things will get somewhat warmer in Nanjo: highs are around 75°F and lows about 67°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Sun) early enough to travel to Kumejima-cho.

On the 8th (Mon), see the interesting displays at Kumejima Hotaru Kan, identify plant and animal life at Tonbara, then kick back and relax at Hatenohama, and finally snap pictures at Shirugachi Bridge. Here are some ideas for day two: enjoy the sand and surf at Eef Beach, explore the striking landscape at Torinokuchi Rock, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Ala Beach, and finally take a memorable drive along Tsumugi Bridge.

Getting from Nanjo to Kumejima-cho by combination of taxi and flight takes about an hour. In April, daily temperatures in Kumejima-cho can reach 76°F, while at night they dip to 67°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Taketomicho Iriomote-jima.
