Get outdoors at Yonaha Maehama Beach and Tomori Imugya Beach. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Hora Gyoko no Hama Beach and Nagamahama Beach Coast. The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Sunayama Beach and stroll through Aragusuku Beach.

Tokyo to Miyakojima is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. In May, Miyakojima is somewhat warmer than Tokyo - with highs of 32°C and lows of 27°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Wed) early enough to travel to Ishigaki.

You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Yonehara Beach and Fusaki Beach. Get outdoors at Kondoi Beach and Akashi Beach. Next up on the itinerary: stroll through Shiraho Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Sunset Beach, stop by Pinion Direct Shop, and visit a coastal fixture at Cape Hirakubozaki.

On the 19th (Sun), see the interesting displays at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, take an in-depth tour of Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims, and then contemplate the long history of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. On your second day here, enjoy the sand and surf at Mikasahama Beach, stroll through Miyajima, then contemplate the long history of Itsukushima Shrine Torii, and finally steep yourself in history at Itsukushima Shrine.

You can do a combination of flight and train from Ishigaki to Hiroshima in 5.5 hours. Another option is to fly. Traveling from Ishigaki in May, things will get slightly colder in Hiroshima: highs are around 28°C and lows about 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Mon) early enough to catch the train to Kyoto.

Visit Nijo Castle and Kinkaku-ji for their historical value. Museum-lovers will appreciate Todaiji Temple Cultural Center and Hosomi Museum. Explore Kyoto's surroundings by going to Osaka (Dotonbori & Osaka Castle) and Nara (Nara Park & Todai-ji Temple). And it doesn't end there: contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, make a trip to Gion, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Ryoanji Temple.

You can take a train from Hiroshima to Kyoto in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. May in Kyoto sees daily highs of 29°C and lows of 17°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Fri) so you can travel to Tokyo.
