Kick off your visit on the 15th (Sat): admire the masterpieces at The Hakone Open-Air Museum, explore the activities along Lake Ashi (Ashinoko), steep yourself in history at Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu, then take an in-depth tour of Hakone Shrine Homotsuden, and finally take an in-depth tour of Hakone Sekisho and Hakone Sekisho Museum.

You can take a train from Kyoto to Hakone-machi in 4 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of train and flight. When traveling from Kyoto in February, plan for a bit cooler days in Hakone-machi, with highs around 5°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 2°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Tokyo.

You can drive from Hakone-machi to Tokyo in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
