Tokyo is known for historic sites, shopping, parks, museums, and nightlife. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Meiji Jingu Shrine, see the interesting displays at Edo-Tokyo Museum, ponder the world of politics at Imperial Palace, and admire the landmark architecture of Tokyo Skytree.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Tokyo is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of car and ferry. The time zone changes from Indochina Time (ICT) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 2 hour difference. Traveling from Ho Chi Minh City in March, things will get much colder in Tokyo: highs are around 17°C and lows about 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sat) to allow enough time to take a train to Nagoya.

Kick off your visit on the 29th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, then contemplate the long history of Nagoya Castle, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Atsuta Jingu Shrine, and finally observe the fascinating underwater world at Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium. Keep things going the next day: wander the streets of Sakae, make a trip to Osu Shopping Street, then see the interesting displays at SCMAGLEV and Railway Park, then take in nature's colorful creations at Nabana no Sato, and finally walk around Chubu Park.

Getting from Tokyo to Nagoya by train takes about 2 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of flight and train. When traveling from Tokyo in March, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Nagoya: temperatures range from 13°C by day to 7°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Mon) to allow enough time to take a train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Step out of Kyoto with an excursion to Todai-ji Temple in Nara--about 1 hour away. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ryoanji Temple, shop like a local with Nishiki Market Shopping District, and explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle.

You can take a train from Nagoya to Kyoto in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. March in Kyoto sees daily highs of 16°C and lows of 5°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Fri) early enough to take a train to Osaka.
