Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park, Senso-ji Temple, Taiyuimbyo Shrine, and other attractions you added. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Meigetsuin (Hydrangea Temple) and Arona Spa. Explore Tokyo's surroundings by going to Saitama Prefecture Omiya Park (in Saitama), Kashima Jingu (in Kashima) and Obiki Inari Shrine (in Tatebayashi). There's lots more to do: step off the mainland to explore Enoshima Island, explore the world behind art at 21 21 DESIGN SIGHT, take a leisurely stroll along Yokohama Intl Passenger Terminal, and don't miss a visit to Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings.

Helsinki, Finland to Tokyo is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Eastern European Standard Time (EET) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 7 hour difference. Expect a bit warmer temperatures when traveling from Helsinki in June; daily highs in Tokyo reach 30°C and lows reach 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Nikko.

Nikko

A gateway to a sprawling and diverse national park, a center of Shinto spiritualism and place of Buddhist worship, an emblem of the riches and dominance of the Tokugawa shogunate: Nikko means many things to many people.
Step off the beaten path and head to Oze National Park and Ozegahara. The adventure continues: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Chuzenji, walk around Italian Embassy House Memorial Park, learn the secrets of beer at Katayama Shuzo, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Nantai.

Getting from Tokyo to Nikko by train takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 28°C in June, and nighttime lows around 24°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sun) so you can catch the flight to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Kyoto Insider Sake Experience and Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kyoto: Tempozan Ferris Wheel (in Osaka), Kobe (Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens & Nunobiki Falls (Nunobiki-No-Taki)) and Expo '70 Commemorative Park (in Suita). The adventure continues: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, take in nature's colorful creations at Nanzen-ji Temple, admire the striking features of Chishaku-in, and visit Pontocho District.

Traveling by train from Nikko to Kyoto takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or take a train; or drive. When traveling from Nikko in June, plan for a bit warmer days in Kyoto, with highs around 32°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Fri) to allow time to fly to Tokyo.
