Tokyo is known for historic sites, shopping, parks, museums, and nightlife. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Meiji Jingu Shrine, take a stroll through Odaiba, get your game on at Owl cafe Akiba Fukurou, and get a sense of history and politics at Imperial Palace.

Los Angeles, USA to Tokyo is an approximately 15.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of train and flight. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time (PST) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 17 hour difference. Traveling from Los Angeles in August, expect a bit warmer with lows of 76°F in Tokyo. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Wed) so you can catch the train to Kanazawa.

An old castle town largely unspoiled during World War II, Kanazawa features well-preserved architecture spread across a range of districts.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Thu): explore the world behind art at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, walk around Kenrokuen Garden, kick back and relax at Gongenmori Beach, then step into the grandiose world of Kanazawa Castle, and finally take a stroll through Higashichaya Old Town. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: cruise along Chirihama Nagisa Driveway, admire the striking features of Kanazawa Station, don't miss a visit to Seisonkaku Villa, see the interesting displays at Ishikawa Prefectural Museum for Traditional Products and Crafts, then make a trip to Omicho Market, and finally contemplate the long history of Nomura Family Samurai House.

Kick off your visit on the 11th (Tue): admire the natural beauty at Koko-en Garden, then step into the grandiose world of Himeji Castle, then don't miss a visit to Shoshazan Engyoji, and finally take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Takamikura.

Change things up with a short trip to Universal Studios Japan in Konohana (about 1h 15 min away).
