Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
On the 28th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at Edo-Tokyo Museum, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kanda Myojin, take a stroll through Akihabara, then shop like a local with Asakusa, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sensō-ji, and finally enjoy breathtaking views from Tokyo Skytree.

Toronto, Canada to Tokyo is an approximately 16.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. You'll lose 14 hours traveling from Toronto to Tokyo due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Toronto in August, expect Tokyo to be somewhat warmer, temps between 36°C and 28°C. You will have some time to spend on the 29th (Thu) before leaving for Fuji National Park.

Sitting at the foot of Mount Fuji, Hakone-machi has become a popular retreat from Tokyo for locals and tourists alike.
Onshi Hakone Park has been added to your itinerary. Keep things going the next day: get engrossed in the history at Hakone Sekisho and Hakone Sekisho Museum, take in the pleasant sights at Cedar Trees of Hakone Old Road, get engrossed in the history at Hakone Shrine Homotsuden, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu, then walk around Onshi Hakone Park, and finally hike along Hakone Stone‐paved Road.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Hakone-machi in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Tokyo in September, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Hakone-machi: temperatures range from 24°C by day to 22°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Wed) early enough to travel to Kyoto.

Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Mon) early enough to take a train to Narita.
