Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Sanjusangendo Temple and Ise Shrine Geku. Visit Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Kinkaku-ji for their historical value. Once a small fishing town, Yokohama was one of the first ports to welcome foreign trade in the 19th century, after which it grew into Japan's second largest city and a bustling metropolis.
On the 25th (Sat), take in the spiritual surroundings of Hase-dera Temple, thencontemplate the long history of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, thenmake a trip to Sankeien Gardens, and finally wander the streets of Yokohama Minato Mirai 21.
