Traveling by train from Hakodate to Noboribetsu takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In May, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Yoichi-cho.

Traveling by car from Noboribetsu to Yoichi-cho takes 2.5 hours. Plan for somewhat warmer nights when traveling from Noboribetsu in May since evenings lows in Yoichi-cho dip to 14°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) so you can travel to Kamikawa-cho.

Traveling by car from Yoichi-cho to Kamikawa-cho takes 3.5 hours. Traveling from Yoichi-cho in May, expect nights in Kamikawa-cho to be a bit cooler, around 10°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Mon) early enough to drive to Asahikawa.

Perched on the confluence of four rivers and surrounded by green hills, Asahikawa combines a modern city experience with the pristine nature nearby.

You can drive from Kamikawa-cho to Asahikawa in 1.5 hours. While traveling from Kamikawa-cho, expect a bit cooler days and a bit warmer nights in Asahikawa, ranging from highs of 17°C to lows of 16°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Thu) so you can take a train to Sapporo.

A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.

Change things up with these side-trips from Sapporo: Otaru (Otaru Canal & JR Otaru Station). Take a train from Asahikawa to Sapporo in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In May in Sapporo, expect temperatures between 17°C during the day and 14°C at night. On the 25th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
