Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Change things up with these side-trips from Las Vegas: Hoover Dam (in Boulder City) and Clark County Heritage Museum (in Henderson). On the 20th (Thu), do a day of sightseeing from above with a helicopter tour. And it doesn't end there: take in the dramatic natural features at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, shop like a local with The Strip, examine the collection at The Mob Museum, and enjoy breathtaking views from High Roller.
