San Juan, Puerto Rico to San Pedro is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or do a combination of flight and ferry. The time zone changes from Atlantic Standard Time (AST) to Central Standard Time (CST), which is usually a -2 hour difference. In January, plan for daily highs up to 32°C, and evening lows to 24°C. Traveling by combination of flight and bus from San Pedro to San Ignacio takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Placencia.

Once a humble fishing village, Placencia has been transformed into a leading tourist destination, with its focus primarily on outdoor activity and natural exploration.

Explore Placencia's surroundings by going to Dangriga (Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Preserve & Studio Gallery Cayetano) and Glover's Reef Marine Reserve (in Hopkins). You can drive from San Ignacio to Placencia in 3.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of flight and bus; or do a combination of bus, shuttle, and flight. In January, daily temperatures in Placencia can reach 31°C, while at night they dip to 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) early enough to catch the flight to Belize City.

Go for a jaunt from Belize City to La Democracia to see The Belize Zoo about 42 minutes away. Belize City is very close to Placencia. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in January, and nighttime lows around 24°C. On the 20th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
