Located near the memorial park marking the site of one of the largest Civil War battles, the town of Gettysburg sits in a landscape of rolling green hills with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Sun): admire the architecture and history at Abraham Lincoln Statue, get your bearings at Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center, then get engrossed in the history at Jennie Wade House, then examine the collection at Gettysburg Museum of History, and finally explore the different monuments and memorials at Gettysburg National Cemetery. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: trot along with a tour on horseback, contemplate the long history of Eisenhower National Historic Site, then pause for some photo ops at 91st Pennsylvania Monument, and finally contemplate the long history of Little Round Top.
