Naples is the capital of the Italian region Campania and the third-largest municipality in Italy after Rome and Milan. Pompeii Archaeological Park and Parco Acheologico di Ercolano are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Your inner history buff will appreciate Museo Cappella Sansevero and Galleria Borbonica. Known for its impressive hillside cascade of colorful stone buildings down to the Mediterranean shore, Amalfi is the cultural and commercial heart of southern Italy's Amalfi Coast.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Duomo di Sant'Andrea and Villa Rufolo. Relax by the water at Fornillo and Bagni d'Arienzo Beach Club, Positano. Explore Amalfi's surroundings by going to Societa Agricola Tenuta San Francesco - S.R.L. (in Tramonti), Il Gusto della Costa (in Praiano) and Spiaggia Grande (in Positano). There's still lots to do: admire the natural beauty at Villa Cimbrone Gardens, take in the spiritual surroundings of San Giovanni del Toro, get to know the fascinating history of Centro Storico, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa dell'Annunziata.

Traveling by combination of subway and taxi from Naples to Amalfi takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Naples in November, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit warmer in Amalfi, with lows of 58°F.
