Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation Miraikan, Mori Art Museum, Kamakura Hiking Trails, and other attractions you added. Your inner history buff will appreciate Nezu Shrine and Fukagawa Edo Museum. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Hokokuji Temple (Takedera Temple) and Chidorigafuchi. Go for a jaunt from Tokyo to Kamakura to see Kencho-ji Temple about 56 minutes away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Hie Jinjya.

Newark, USA to Tokyo is an approximately 16-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of train, subway, bus, and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 14 hours traveling from Newark to Tokyo. Expect somewhat warmer evenings in Tokyo when traveling from Newark in April, with lows around 51°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Hiroshima.

Traveling by train from Tokyo to Hiroshima takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In April, plan for daily highs up to 67°F, and evening lows to 52°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel to Nara.

The country's first established capital, Nara houses some of the most storied buildings and natural attractions in Japan, with eight World Heritage Sites in total.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Fri): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Toshodaiji Temple, appreciate the history behind Todai-ji Temple, then get engrossed in the history at Kofuku-ji Temple National Treasure Hall, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Nigatsu-do Temple, and finally walk around Nara Park.
