Get in touch with nature at Nara Park and Yase Momiji no Komichi. Visit Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Sanjusangendo Temple for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Kyoto side-trips: Nara (Nigatsu-do Temple & Todai-ji Temple), Jindoji Temple (in Kizugawa) and Osaka (Dotonbori & Osaka Castle). The adventure continues: wander the streets of Gion, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji, make a trip to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle.

Getting from Fujikawaguchiko-machi to Kyoto by car takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and train; or do a combination of bus and flight.
