Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Sun): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Asakusa Shrine and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sensō-ji. Keep things going the next day: wander the streets of Ginza and then wander the streets of Odaiba.

Toronto, Canada to Tokyo is an approximately 16.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 14 hour difference. A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Escape the urban bustle at Yabiji and Toguchi no Hama. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Aragusuku Beach and Sunayama Beach. There's still lots to do: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, visit a coastal fixture at Higashi Hennazaki Lighthouse, take in the views from Kurima Bridge, and kick back and relax at Yonaha Maehama Beach.

The mountain town of Takachiho-cho remains a place of great importance to Japan's spiritual and natural heritage, and the point where these two things intersect.
On the 11th (Mon), go for a walk through Amano Yasugawara, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Amano Iwato Shrine, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Takachiho Shrine, and finally take in breathtaking views at Takachiho Gorge.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Toji and Nijo Castle. Tofuku-ji Temple and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine will appeal to history buffs. When in Kyoto, make a side trip to see Dotonbori in Osaka, approximately 1h 10 min away. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, make a trip to Gion, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ryoanji Temple.

Getting from Takachiho-cho to Kyoto by flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of flight and train; or drive. In November, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 19°C, while at night they dip to 10°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Thu) to allow enough time to take a train to Kanazawa.
