Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Mon): get to know the fascinating history of Campo del Ghetto and then wander the streets of Cannaregio. Here are some ideas for day two: see the interesting displays at Doge's Palace, snap pictures at Ponte di Rialto, and then explore the activities along Canal Grande.

Stockholm, Sweden to Venice is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. Traveling from Stockholm in June, expect Venice to be a bit warmer, temps between 32°C and 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Wed) to allow enough time to take a train to Florence.

With its warm island weather and cliffside location overlooking the Ionion Sea, Taormina has been one of Sicily's most popular getaway destinations since the early 19th century.
On the 11th (Thu), stroll around Villa Comunale, then head off the coast to Isola Bella, then don't miss a visit to Corso Umberto, and finally go for a walk through Piazza IX Aprile.

Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily

Castellammare del Golfo is a town and comune in the Trapani Province of Sicily. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Riserva Naturale Dello Zingaro and Riserva Naturale Saline Di Trapani E Paceco.
