Lying at the foot of one of Japan's holy volcanic mountains, the charming city of Kaga draws visitors with its onsens and lovely temples.
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Sat): admire the verdant scenery at Kakusenkei Gorge, take some stellar pictures from Yamanaka Onsen Yuge Way, then steep yourself in history at Korogi Bridge, and finally indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens. On the next day, see the interesting displays at Motorcar Museum of Japan, examine the collection at Ishikawa Aviation Plaza, then take in the waterfront activity at Amagozen Cape, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Natadera Temple.

Located in the heart of Noto Peninsula, Nanao offers tourists a laid-back getaway and scenic nature spots.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Notojima Aquarium and Notojima. Do some cultural sightseeing at Keta Taisha Shrine and Noto Wine. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Nanao: Chirihama Nagisa Driveway (in Hakui) and Gammon (in Shika-machi). There's still lots to do: indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens, take in the views from Notojima Ohashi, and kick back and relax at Marin Park Beach.

An old castle town largely unspoiled during World War II, Kanazawa features well-preserved architecture spread across a range of districts.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at D. T. Suzuki Museum and Shirayama Hime Shrine. Explore hidden gems such as Kanazawa Hyakubangai Shopping Center and Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art. When in Kanazawa, make a side trip to see Shishiku Park in Hakusan, approximately 30 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: get engrossed in the history at Shima, wander the streets of Higashichaya Old Town, steep yourself in history at Shofukaku Garden, and take some stellar pictures from Kazuemachi Tea House Street.

Traveling by car from Suzu to Kanazawa takes 2.5 hours. When traveling from Suzu in December, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Kanazawa: temperatures range from 11°C by day to 3°C at night.
