Well-known for the beautiful views of its famous Promenade des Anglais waterfront, Nice is an ethnically-diverse coastal port city on the French Riviera and the fifth most populated city in France.
Get a sense of the local culture at Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs and Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial. Visit Forteresse Medievale De Gourdon and Haut de Cagnes for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Nice side-trips: Basilica St. Michel (in Menton), Musee d'Art Classique de Mougins (in Mougins) and Chateau de la Napoule / Musee Henry-Clews (in La Napoule-Plage).
