The capital of the island of Funen, Odense represents the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, who penned such classics as "The Little Mermaid" and "The Ugly Duckling." Denmark's third-largest city proudly displays its link to the famous writer with museums, sculptures, and public art installations dedicated to Andersen and his stories.
On the 2nd (Fri), explore the different monuments and memorials at Lindeskov langdysse and then explore the historical opulence of Egeskov Castle. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Sat): make a trip to The Danish Railway Museum, examine the collection at The Funen Village, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Vor Frue Kirke.
