Explore Brisbane's surroundings by going to Warner Bros. Movie World (in Oxenford) and Infinity Attraction (in Surfers Paradise). Cape Tribulation

A lush headland that's part of the forested Daintree Region, Cape Tribulation was so named by Lieutenant--later Captain--Cook in 1770, when his ship ran aground in the area.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cape Tribulation: Daintree (Floravilla Ice Cream Factory & Photography Tours). There's lots more to do: experience rural life at Cape Trib Farm, admire the sheer force of Alexandra Bay Waterfall, stroll through Cape Tribulation Beach, and trek along Dubuji Boardwalk.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Step out of Cairns to go to Palm Cove and see Palm Cove Beach, which is approximately 32 minutes away. Spend the 7th (Fri) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. There's much more to do: trek along Esplanade Boardwalk, relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, stop by Australian Leather Company, and take in nature's colorful creations at Botanical Gardens.
