It's the mild climate and calm seas of Pula that draw visitors to the southernmost point of the Istrian peninsula, but the city's ample Roman architecture is a key reason they stay.
Get in touch with nature at Scuba & Snorkeling and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. Get some cultural insight at Volosko and Amphitheatre de Pula. Get out of town with these interesting Pula side-trips: The town of Hum (in Hum), Rijeka (Peek & Poke Computer Museum, Kastav, & more) and Opatija (The Angiolina Park - Villa Angiolina & Maiden With The Seagull). Situated along the Adriatic Sea, Zadar preserves a medieval old town that is entirely contained on a peninsula.
Get a sense of the local culture at Narodni trg u Zadru and Solana Nin Salt Museum. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Sokolarski Raptor Centre and Waterskiing & Jetskiing. Step out of Zadar with an excursion to Simuni Beach in Simuni--about 1h 05 min away. And it doesn't end there: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, Head underground at Modric Cave (Modric Spilja), don't miss a visit to Stone Bridge and the Old Gate, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Zadar Cathedral.
