Do your shopping at Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi. Step out of Osaka to go to Nara and see Tōdai-ji, which is approximately 50 minutes away. There's more to do: meet the residents at Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and get great views at Tempozan Ferris Wheel.
