Perhaps the island's best-known hot spring resort, Noboribetsu has a long history of tourism.
Start off your visit on the 20th (Thu): find something for the whole family at Noboribetsu Date Historic Village, explore the striking landscape at Jigokudani, and then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: observe the fascinating underwater world at Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, then contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Toya, and then walk around Wakakusa Central Park.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Noboribetsu is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Malaysia Time (MYT) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Kuala Lumpur in February, expect Noboribetsu to be much colder, temps between 1°C and -4°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Niseko-cho.

Start off your visit on the 22nd (Sat): take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, hit the slopes at Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area, and then get outside with Niseko Moiwa Ski Resort. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun): fly down the slopes at Niseko Village Pure and then fly down the slopes at Niseko Mountain Resort Grand Hirafu Ski Place.

Traveling by car from Niseko-cho to Otaru takes 1.5 hours. When traveling from Niseko-cho in February, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Otaru: temperatures range from -1°C by day to -5°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Tue) early enough to drive to Asahikawa.

Drive from Otaru to Asahikawa in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. When traveling from Otaru in February, plan for little chillier days in Asahikawa, with highs around -5°C, while nights are about the same with lows around -7°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Thu) so you can catch the train to Sapporo.
