Outback Capital of the Northern Territory

The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Take a break from Darwin with a short trip to Territory Wildlife Park in Berry Springs, about 42 minutes away. Spend the 4th (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's much more to do: make a splash at Darwin Waterfront, take in the dramatic natural features at Berry Springs Nature Park, examine the collection at Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, and see the world from above with a helicopter tour.

Perth to Darwin is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Perth to Darwin, you'll lose 1.5 hours due to the time zone difference.
