Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
Do your shopping at La Boqueria and Galeria La Lesia. Get some historical perspective at Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and Las Ramblas. Venture out of the city with trips to La playa de Tamariu (in Tamariu), Playas de Calella (in Calella de Palafrugell) and Platja d'Aro (Cala del Pi & Cala Sa Conca). There's much more to do: wander the streets of El Barri Gòtic, look for all kinds of wild species at Camino de Ronda, walk around Parc Guell, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Barcelona Cathedral.
