Singapore, Singapore to Nantou is an approximately 10.5-hour combination of flight and bus. While traveling from Singapore, expect slightly colder days and cooler nights in Nantou, ranging from highs of 24°C to lows of 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Sat) so you can travel to Magong.

Most visitors take a trip to Magong to see Penghu's iconic landmark, the famed Tianhou Gong Mazu temple, honoring the Chinese sea goddess and dating back to the 16th century.

Expect a daytime high around 23°C in December, and nighttime lows around 18°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Tue) so you can take a train to Hualien.

Nestled between the sea and the mountains, Hualien boasts a number of attractions, both natural and manmade.

Take a train from Taipei to Hualien in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Fri) so you can go by car to Taitung.

Sitting between the mountains and the sea, Taitung offers pleasing scenery no matter what direction you face.

Getting from Hualien to Taitung by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a train. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Hengchun.

Located on the southern tip of the eponymous peninsula, Hengchun serves as the entry point to Kenting National Park, often attracting more travelers than locals with its tropical beach resorts and bustling night markets.
