Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Your list of things to see and do now includes The Tsukiji Market, National Theatre, Chidorigafuchi, and other attractions. For shopping fun, head to Harajuku Takeshita-dori or Diver City Tokyo Plaza. Explore hidden gems such as Kitchen Town (Kappabashi) and Showa Kinen Park. There's much more to do: wander the streets of Ueno, make a trip to Meiji Jingu Shrine, ponder the world of politics at Imperial Palace, and admire the landmark architecture of Tokyo Tower.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major airports are Tokyo Haneda International Airport, Narita International Airport and Hyakuri Airport. In March, plan for daily highs up to 58°F, and evening lows to 43°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
You've added Sagano, Tofuku-ji Temple, Minami (Namba), and other attractions to your itinerary. Head to Dotonbori and Shinsaibashifor some retail therapy. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Pontocho and Kodai-ji Temple. Explore Kyoto's surroundings by going to Tenjimbashisuji Shopping Street (in Osaka) and Nara (Nara Park & Kasuga Grand Shrine). There's much more to do: take a stroll through Gion, steep yourself in history at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, browse the different shops at Kyoto Station Building, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Kyoto in 3 hours. Other options are to do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. In April, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 67°F, while at night they dip to 50°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Fri) so you can take a train to Hiroshima.

On the 9th (Fri), buy something for everyone on your list at Hiroshima Shinkansen Meitengai, take in the spiritual surroundings of Mitaki Temple, step off the mainland to explore Okunoshima Island, then wander the streets of Saijo, then explore the historical opulence of Hiroshima Castle, and finally wander the streets of Kamiyacho. On the next day, head off the coast to Miyajima, add some entertainment to your itinerary with SAMURAI NINJA THEATRE, browse the different shops at YouMe Town Hiroshima, then examine the collection at Former Naval Academy, then appreciate the history behind Memorial Tower to the Mobilized Students, and finally don't miss a visit to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.

Traveling by train from Kyoto to Hiroshima takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train, flight, and ferry. In April in Hiroshima, expect temperatures between 67°F during the day and 52°F at night. On the 11th (Sun), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
