When in Tauranga, make a side trip to see Paradise Valley Springs Wildlife Park in Rotorua, approximately 1 hour away. There's still lots to do: hike along Mount Maunganui Summit Track, take in the exciting artwork at the Zeus Gallery, and admire the sheer force of McLaren Falls Park.
