Kick off your visit on the 12th (Sat): tour the pleasant surroundings at Omimaiko Beach and then revel in the low prices at Mitsui Outlet Park Shiga Ryuo. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate the long history of Sanjusangendo Temple, get engrossed in the history at Kyoto National Museum, then contemplate the long history of Mt. Kurama, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Shimogamo Jinja.

You can drive from Fujikawaguchiko-machi to Kyoto in 4.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of bus and train; or do a combination of bus, flight, and train. Traveling from Fujikawaguchiko-machi in October, expect nights in Kyoto to be about the same, around 18°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 27°C.
