Getting from Kanazawa to Komatsu by car takes about an hour. In January in Komatsu, expect temperatures between 7°C during the day and 0°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Wed) so you can go by car to Takayama.

Traveling by car from Komatsu to Takayama takes 2.5 hours. In January, daily temperatures in Takayama can reach 5°C, while at night they dip to 0°C. You'll have a few hours on the 31st (Fri) to wrap things up before traveling to Matsumoto.
